International Forum on Palestine and Masjid Al-Aqsa: Ramadan Provocation

The forum addressed the latest acts of violence which Israel has directed against Palestinian Muslims and Christians throughout 2023; the violence which Israeli police used against Muslim worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in April 2023; the attempts of Jewish extremists to occupy al-Aqsa and sacrifice a goat at the site; the intervention by Israeli police which raided the mosque, injured and arrested dozens of worshipers; the warning that Palestinian resistance groups made to Israel against its aggression and the Israeli bombing of Gaza, Lebanon and Syria in response; and the dilemma which the Jewish state faced when it was confronted with the possibility of having a three front war with different Islamic groups.

The event was organised by the Department of History and Civilisation in collaboration with Asia Middle East Centre (AMEC) and International Institute for Muslim Unity (IIMU) – ISTAC on 12th May2023 (Friday), Kulliyyah of Engineering, IIUM
